A keynote speech at the 50th Anniverary of the Space Age event was made by Dr Neil deGrasse Tyson, Director of the Hayden Planetarium at the American Museum of Natural History.
All cultures throughout history have asked the question "Why are we here?". Culture could be defined as "what we take for granted". Space is becoming part of modern culture.

STS-7 was a space shuttle mission by NASA using Space Shuttle Challenger, and launched on 18 June 1983. It was the seventh space shuttle mission, and was the second mission for the Space Shuttle Challenger. It was also the first American mission to have a female astronaut.
